GHG
A gas that contributes to the natural greenhouse effect. Under the Kyoto Protocol, this includes a group of six greenhouse gases (GHGs) produced by human activities:
• Carbon dioxide
• Methane
• Nitrous oxide
• Hydrofluorocarbons
• Perfluorocarbons
• Sulphur hexafluoride
Emissions of these gases should be measured in terms of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO2e), based on their global warming potential.
Global warming is increasing at a pace that requires urgent action to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions—especially CO2—affecting companies of all sizes and across all industries. ISO 14064 provides clear guidelines and requirements for quantifying and verifying emissions in a GHG inventory, both at organisational and individual project level.
THE ISO 14064 STANDARD CONSISTS OF 3 PARTS:
PART 1:
Specification with guidance at the organisation level for the quantification and reporting of greenhouse gas emissions and removals.
PART 2:
Specification with guidance at the project level for the quantification, monitoring and reporting of emission reductions or removal enhancements.
PART 3:
Specification with guidance for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas statements.
CONSULT WITH US
Our consultants will help you build a GHG reduction system by:
• At the organisational level, establish a system for quantifying and reporting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and removals. This includes requirements for the design, development, management, reporting and verification of your organisation's GHG inventory.
• At the organisational level, establish principles and requirements for GHG project planning, identifying and selecting GHG sources, sinks and reservoirs relevant to projects and the baseline scenario, monitoring, quantification, documentation and reporting of GHG project performance, and data quality management.
• At the organisational level, establish principles and requirements for the validation and verification of greenhouse gas (GHG) statements.
